Breaking the pattern

The otherwise regular pattern of buildings along Mount Road is broken by this facade opposite the LIC building. Must say the building is rather photogenic, it certainly looks better in the picture than it does in reality - does startle you for a moment when you see it suddenly!

Hi Shantaram,

If I am not wrong, this multi coloured DBS building was where the movie moghul of South India A.V.Meiyappa Chettiar started his Saraswati Stores, dealing in gramophone records.

They used to have outstanding 'rasa vada'. Yes, still remember it. And a famous ice-cream (a whopper) called Earthquake - used to be huge.
