There was Chennapattanam and then there was Madras.
About 357 years later, in 1996, she became Chennai. And whatever she may be called 385 years from now, she will always remain the "Queen of the Coromandel"!

Hotel with a view
It stands in a quiet corner of Purasaiwalkam, near the Jeremiah Park. With its front door opening out to the park, there was nothing else for it but to name this hotel "The Park View Inn"!

A very charming small hotel. I'm sure it has much more personality than those big hotel chains.

@ Hilda: I do hope so - some of them end up trying to imitate the big guys and end up being rather pretentious!
